Meet Our Veterinary Team

Meet the Veterinarians & Team of Cherry Valley Veterinary Hospital. We’re pleased to provide exceptional vet care for your pets!

Dr. Kristin Lane

Dr. Erin Maillet, Medical Director

Dr. Erin Maillet earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Tufts University. She brings over 20 years of experience, including 15 years as a Medical Director. She also served as a regional mentor and has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including emergency, urgent care, and shelter medicine.

Dr. Maillet is currently expanding her diagnostic skills through a POCUS (point-of-care ultrasound) training program. She has experience in exotic animal care and integrates Fear Free techniques into her daily practice to reduce stress and improve patient outcomes. Her passion for veterinary medicine began with her childhood pets, Jessie, an Australian Shepherd who played soccer with her, and Goober, a cat who accompanied her to vet school.

Dr. Maillet believes veterinarians are advocates for animals and is dedicated to supporting the clients and pets in our community. Outside of work, Dr. Maillet enjoys running, hiking, gardening, reading, and relaxing with a good puzzle.

Dr. Kristin Lane

Dr. Kristin Lane

Dr. Kristin Lane graduated from St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. After graduation, she completed two veterinary internships. The first was a rotating medicine/surgery internship that allowed her to receive additional training in multiple veterinary specialties and the second was an Internal Medicine internship. Dr. Lane strongly believes in the power and mutual benefits of the human-animal bond. As a small animal veterinarian, her goal is to empower owners and to provide their pets with the best care possible. When not at work, she likes to spend time with my family (two and four-legged), explore the PNW, garden, and read.

Dr. Deborah Carlson

Dr. Deborah Carlson

Dr. Deborah Carlson earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University and has been practicing in western Washington for over 25 years. She has a special interest in feline medicine, geriatric care, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and acupuncture, which she began offering after completing formal training in 2004. She has also helped several practices achieve Cat Friendly and Fear Free certifications and incorporates these techniques to help pets feel at ease during every visit.

Her passion for veterinary medicine was shaped by a childhood marked by frequent moves, where family pets became a constant source of comfort and connection. That bond inspired her to help others keep their pets healthy and nurture the relationships they share.

Dr. Carlson believes in working collaboratively with pet parents, offering recommendations as if every patient were her own. She takes pride in delivering thoughtful, compassionate care tailored to each pet and family.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Adam, their two Golden Retrievers, Lockett and Wagner, and four cats: Mini Moose, Cheezit, Taco, and Aslan. A proud Seattle Seahawks fan, she spends football Sundays in full team spirit and loves cooking, exploring farmers markets, and relaxing at home with her pets.
